La Pollera Y El Congo.

In 2019, I joined an Africana Research Collective where Dr. Ousman Powergreene encouraged his students to begin media projects that represented our individual identities. I started producing a radio show on campus with a title that represents my Panamanian heritage. After asking Ale Perez and Sofia Bishop to join me as co-hosts, we developed this podcast that gave voices to BIPOC students… I present to you: La Pollera y El Congo! Listen to the first episode below, back when it was a radio show on ROCU, or start with our series Figures of the Future where we highlight light workers and talented folks in our community.

Patient Review

“The electric atmosphere, buzzing excitement, and emotional catharsis of the rally, can only be attributed to the BSU and CUSC’s painstaking and tireless efforts to create lasting changes on campus.”

  • The Scarlet- The Student Newspaper of Clark University

“The groups created various templates for students to use, including one for students to send to financial aid to ask for an extension on the tuition deadline. The Clark University Fair Aid Campaign is also creating a fund to help students pay the late fee on their tuition, the groups said”

  • The Boston Globe

“A psychology major, she’s undoubtedly an up-and-coming voice in the diversity, equity & inclusion world and beyond, and one with a knack for institutional knowledge. She’s leading an invigorated Gen Z organization, which is organized both on campus and online, and that’s someone to look out for.”
